Today's Story: The value of books, inspiration, ideas, words and storytelling, wisdom, and ChatGPT.

The evolution of social media has made it easy to access a condensed version of virtually all kinds of information. As someone from the paper generation, I find it challenging to articulate the value of encountering new books and the act of turning their pages, even though I deeply wish to do so.

In conducting research for projects, I frequently use the national library. In the process of translating "inspiration" and "ideas" into words, I search for "words" and "stories." The term "hanashi" (story or tale) in the title of this blog, which I found in the terminology of traditional Japanese storytelling, feels like a discovery of "wisdom" to me. I consider this one of the values of books.

In the process of materializing "inspiration" and "ideas," I always aim for something of greater value. This transforms into the creation of stories with depth and inclusiveness, based on design, concepts, or themes. The triggers of "words" and "stories" bring arts, literature, and philosophy closer to us. It may extend beyond the domain of a designer, but that is the essence of creativity.

With the advent of ChatGPT, "words" and "stories" have become more accessible and free. I utilize it to clarify "inspiration" and "ideas" and to refine design expressions.

The project I'm currently involved in revolves around the theme of "wisdom." I feel that "wisdom=prompts," utilizing ChatGPT and AI, will significantly change the quality of design in the future. This approach not only enhances the creative process but also opens up new avenues for incorporating depth and insight into our work, bridging the gap between traditional sources of inspiration and the limitless possibilities offered by modern technology.

I share books that have deeply impressed me and those I've had the fortunate opportunity to be involved in their production.
